[She nods, but she's quiet for a minute as she tries to gather her swirling thoughts. Her hands roughly grasp hold of her skirt and she tries to figure out what to say or do. He's the first person in her life that's given her permission to disagree with them, and this is the first moment she's realized that she never really needed permission.
