[He watches the creature while she runs back for the camera, and when she returns, he's still there watching the grass, the hills, the sunlight as it slowly filters into the sky.]

Too late.

[He frowns, still a little bewildered by the sighting, and stands and brushes dust off his jeans. But he hasn't looked away from that spot. He motions to it with a hand.]

I don't really get how it left, though. It was right there, then it took a few steps and it was like it just walked through a hole in the world.

[In fact, he wants to go check this out. Food can wait another minute. He picks his way down the hill to where the thing was, and looks at the grass, the bushes, the prints in the dirt, circling the spot so he can see it from different angles. But there's nothing to see, not that he can find.]

I dunno. I wonder if that's what it looks like to other people when we slip through different times, though.
