Tornadoes and skeletons and nacho dogs, oh my
[So this is how he gets away with it, then. Cruz, a skeleton, with a skeleton horse, lives in a skeleton of a house with a skeletal barn attached - and he remains unseen, his home apparently abandoned, all the way on the outskirts of this thing that's barely a town.
Well, you do what you gotta do, and Johnnie won't turn down a kind offer of a safe place to stay the night. He can't help but grin at Chrissy having such a good time riding that bony horse as he pulls the bike in through the barn door and parks it to the side, then hops off.]
Hey man, we owe ya for this. Here.
[See, this is yet another reason it's good to stock up on alcohol. He finds their most recent stolen bottle of tequila and pulls it out as he saunters over to their host and offers it in an outstretched hand.]
On us. Uh, if you drink, that is. You do drink, right?
[Normally that would be a dumb question to ask but the guy appears to be actual bones. But, bones that can smoke, without lungs, so he can probably drink without a mouth, right?
That earns a laugh from Cruz.]
I sure do, fella. You don't have to, though. I'm not looking for any kind of repayment, just helping out a couple folks in need.
[Johnnie shakes his head and waves that attempt off.]
Nah, it's all yours. Or if you really insist, we can all split it tomorrow, the three of us an' the rest of your crew. Can't wait to meet 'em. They all skeletons too?

Babe, if anyone could burn hell down, it's us.
[They're capable of whatever they want to do, and he believes that - especially if what they want is to destroy. San Antonio had better watch out, had better be good to them, because they're a well-honed set of weapons, now, the two of them.
A few more strokes and then he withdraws his hand, partly because his wrist is starting to cramp up and it needs a break, but he can fix that. He grins again as he slowly licks his fingers clean so she can get a preview of his tongue, and then he scoots himself off the bed and onto his knees, head between her thighs. With a broad stroke of his tongue, he sets to giving her something her hand sure can't.]
no subject
You're going to burn me down to nothing if you keep it up.
[She laughs, stroking his hair as she parts her legs a little more. One of her legs curls upward enough she can rest her foot against his shoulder, and when her toes curl as her back arches and she squirms against him she's able to dig in. There's worry that she might press him away, but she doesn't press hard enough to do that. She just braces herself as he starts to quickly work her toward seeing stars.]
no subject
And he, too, is finally starting to feel like he could use some attention. He's not desperate for it, he could easily get her off like this and love every moment of it and then let her decide what she wants to do with him after, but either way, there's heat low in his groin that will soon ache for much more contact.
As she presses against his mouth, seeking her pleasure, he briefly smiles against her skin and drags his nails down the back of her thigh so she can feel those bright little streaks of near-pain to couple with all the rest of it.]
no subject
Johnnie, wait. Wait, baby, wait.
[And when he obliges she grins, sitting up and resting back on her elbows.]
Stay there on the floor, just -
[She very reluctantly pries herself away from him, and shifts to crawl over toward the edge of the bed on her hands and knees. There's a few seconds where she stays like that and teases at his cock with little kisses and only a brief moment in her mouth, but she pulls off quickly and turns around so her backside is to him.]
Can you reach me if you stand? Or do you want to get in the bed?
[The position doesn't matter as much to her, she just is trying to make it quicker and easier for him to bury himself inside her so they both get what they want.]
no subject
Oh, I can reach you just fine.
[And he's not going to delay, not now. That little teasing grind was enough. He wastes no further time and presses into her, but this time there's none of the desperation from before. He holds tight to her hips and gives a nice, slow, even drag in and out, reaching deep rather than trying for fast.]
no subject
[The word is drawn out, low and deep as he presses into her. She'd be fine with something desperate and hard, but this is so good after the slow burn he's just warmed her over with. Her palms press against the mattress, fingers flexing. And she meets his slow thrusts with gentle rocks and no urgency to turn this into something rough.
He's really able to press deep within her like this, and it's impossible to stay quiet with every slow move he makes. There's no reason to be quiet though. It's good to let him know she likes this and is enjoying herself.]
You feel so good.
no subject
Fuck. Is it dumb to say "you, too"? Goddamn, though.
[Probably dumb but this isn't exactly his moment of peak intelligence, and he'll blame that mostly on the lingering high more than anything else. He knows exactly what he's doing, otherwise.
And now that he's struck the pace he wants, he leans down - not enough to kiss her, as it would make the angle more difficult, but enough to reach a hand forward to caress her breasts and then press in on her belly just to make her feel that pressure inside her even more intensely.]
no subject
[She can barely gasp out the word, as her head ducks and she digs her fingers into the sheets. His hand against her belly makes her shudder, goosebumps rising up over her skin as she shakily groans. She leans forward a little more, which changes the angle of her hips. He has to give her a hand getting back upright again, because it's only a few more presses deep into her and she comes.
It feels like her arms are trembling, barely able to support her weight. She holds out to let him finish before she collapses down cheek first against the bed, a big grin on her face.
That?
Was just as good as the fun they had in the tub. Even better in some ways. If there's one thing she really loves about them, it's that they always keep things interesting, no matter how horny they are and how often they have sex.]
no subject
When those fuckers finally come to drop off the food I'm just gonna yell at 'em to leave it at the door. I'm not gettin' a towel.
[He grins lazily and strokes fingers through her hair, then places a kiss on the tip of her nose.]
no subject
When they're like this, he's the only thing that matters to her. And as much as she's looking forward to food, she doesn't want him to pull away just yet.]
Good. Because I want to lay together just like this for a little while.
[Her fingers run through his hair, and she holds him close and enjoys the moment. It's pretty bad timing that there's a knock at the door, and the sound of a man's voice calling out room service. Chrissy laughs and groans, letting go of Johnnie so she can shout at the door.]
Leave it at the door, please! We're busy!
no subject
Yeah, busy's right. I bet he can figure that out, us orderin' fancy food an' sending him off without seeing us. Wonder if he smells the pot? But, y'know, we're celebrating not dying in a fire, right?
[Definitely calls for celebrating, that story. He gives her one more kiss, but then finally pulls away, because he really is actually hungry and fries are better when hot.
He listens at the door for a second to make sure there's truly nobody in the hallway, then opens it up to grab the tray and bring it in, closing the door behind him with his heel. And hell, looking at all this food, smelling it, he's practically drooling.]
Fuck that smells good. Look at this, the lobster's drenched in butter. And -
[He sets the food down on the table just as he starts laughing. There are two glasses of coke with maraschino cherries floating in them, and he points them out.]
Fanciest fuckin' cherry coke you ever saw!
no subject
She grabs a glass of coke first, and takes an experimental sip. It's not exactly how it normally tastes, but it's good. And it's really sweet that they've tried. She's utterly charmed by it, actually, and has a goofy grin on her face as she reaches over to grab a few fries.]
You know, I think I want to eat the ice cream first. It's already starting to melt.
[He can start with the steak or lobster, but her eyes are on the sweets.]
Did you want some?
no subject
[He's after that steak, himself, and sits himself right down and grabs a fork and knife to start carving it up. It smells incredible, he just can't get over that. This kitchen does shit just right.
And when he finally has a bite, he practically melts in his chair with satisfaction.]
Bliss. Fuckin' bliss. Icing on the cake. What a night.
no subject
It's been a really eventful night.
[That's easy to agree with. After their mission with Cruz, to the tornado, to driving all the way here? It's been a long, long day. But she's glad this is how they're ending it, hiding away from the chaos and darkness that exists out beyond the hotel. They haven't exactly done much resting yet, but she already feels recharged and ready to conquer whatever tomorrow brings.
Before she can do that, though, she needs steak. She waits for him to carve up another piece or two, and then grabs a fork so she can steal one of the pieces. She knows exactly what she did, because she's grinning with satisfaction as she eats it. And he's right. It is bliss. She sighs once she's swallowed and slinks back in her chair.]
Maybe we should've ordered four of these.
no subject
Yeah, maybe. I thought maybe this would be too much, but I feel like I could eat an elephant right now.
[Which means it's time for a handful of fries. The crunch and the grease and the salt hits just right.
And before he's full, he'll sure prove he's able to make his way through his share of all of what they ordered, but eventually he's left sagging in his chair and sipping at his coke, completely content and very full. He taps his foot on the floor as he hums a song in his head, the latest one he wrote for her that probably could still use some work but he likes where he's come with it.]
no subject
You have to sing that one on stage sometime.
[It's hard to resist leaning forward to steal a quick kiss, so she doesn't. She grabs a couple of fries as she leans back into her chair, and swirls them in the remaining ice cream to see how she likes the mix of salty and sweet. ]
Or sing it right now for me. For real, I mean! Not just humming.
no subject
Glad you like it so much. Some day it'll wind up on stage, promise.
[Whether the rest of the band wants to pick it up or not, since he can always do little solo gigs here and there. But he likes picturing it with a fuller sound, all four instruments going at once, maybe some hand claps. And why wouldn't they want to? Everyone loves a fun love song. It'll speak to more people out there than just the two of them.
He chugs down the rest of his soda as an excuse to wet his throat, then hops up out of his chair to grab his guitar. He's not afraid to sing without backing music, but it just sounds... naked. Funny thought considering he's wearing nothing more than an instrument right now, as he sits back down and slings the strap over his shoulders, but there it is. He strums a few chords just to tweak the tuning, since the guitar does pretty well on their journeys but they sure do lug the poor thing through some weird conditions, and then starts in, singing it for her with a pause here and there as he tweaks the melody before resuming.]
Startin' to come together, a little at a time.
no subject
Actually, now that she hears the hand claps along with what he's got going? It's pretty catchy and fun. As he finishes up, that musical clapping turns into actual applause.]
You're going to be a huge star someday.
[And she's going to be there to support him the entire way. It's great they're able to see and do these things after death, because with the rest of forever stretching out before them he deserves a chance to be a famous musician.]
no subject
[It really remains to be seen just how things will work for them. Plenty of living people seem like they can see them just fine, but there are plenty who don't. And what if that changes over time? What if it depends on unknown factors? He's not worried about it, really, just curious how it'll impact his audience. And, more especially, his role in the band.
But, one day at a time, like he always does. He strums a few chords idly, not really part of any song in particular but just a progression he feels like thumbing through. The sun will be up in a few hours, meaning the hotel will try to contact people who won't actually pay for their room. They can probably squat here a while anyway before they get as far as trying to kick them out, but just in case, he gets up, stretches, puts his guitar away, then drags the chair he was sitting in over to the door and wedges it under the knob before sliding the deadbolt shut.]
There. I'm gonna bet those idiots downstairs don't try to drag us out tomorrow morning, but if they do, that'll slow 'em down.
[And now it's time for a post-meal cigarette.]
no subject
She makes her way back out to him right after, so she can wrap her arms around him from behind and rest her chin on his shoulder.]
Do you want to try laying down and seeing if we can sleep? Just in case they do get in tomorrow morning.
no subject
I wouldn't mind tryin' to get some shut-eye. I think we've earned it, haven't we?
[Not that sleep needs to be earned, but the fact is they've done a lot lately and it's probably a good opportunity to catch up on sleep. Tomorrow ought to be a nice big full day, after all.
After another draw from the cigarette, he pulls away to set it down and grab his toothbrush. And once he's all good and ready, he wriggles his way under the blankets. If it takes him a while to actually fall asleep, that's all right. He has music in his head and now is as good a time as any to think about it some more.]
no subject
Hey Johnnie?
[Her voice is soft and tired when she finally speaks up.]
Do you have any songs about the moon?
no subject
[He grins and looks over at her, lying there so sweetly at his side, and strokes a hand down her back.]
Yeah, we got one. Just called Moon Song actually. One a' those things that was supposed to be a working title 'til it got a better one, but then it stuck. Guess I'll sing it for you, if you like, but I ain't gettin' my guitar at this point. Bed's too comfy.
["If she likes" meaning he knows she wants him to, so he's not even really going to wait for an affirmative there. Also this is one song that really deserves a lot more upbeat energy than lying in bed can achieve, but hell, he can pretend for now it's something more romantic. The lyrics almost sound like it is, anyway, until you listen harder and know a thing or two about their usual themes.]
no subject
[She requests, and of course she probably doesn't need to. He starts singing before the words are even all the way out of her mouth, and she listens carefully to the words. It's not meant to be a lullaby, that's for sure. But she thinks it sounds romantic enough. She's getting drowsy and doesn't listen to the words all that closely, but she definitely makes a note to ask him to sing it again later so she can learn the words.]
That was really beautiful, baby. [She whispers once he's done, and turns her head to kiss at his cheek.]
Maybe you could teach me the words tomorrow?
no subject
[Or close enough to right, since it'll be acoustic. She must have really liked it though if she's wanting to learn the words to it, considering it seems the rest she's content to just pick up on as she hears them more.]
Get some sleep now, babe.
[She sounds like she's just about there. He kisses her on the forehead, and lets his eyes stay closed. Hopefully he'll get there too, soon enough. Maybe even stay asleep without weird dreams of moons and strange ancient beings from who the fuck knows where.]
