With a joyous cackle, Johnnie pulls her up onto the bike, then takes off. Before they fully leave the scene though, he does one last loop around the block so he can howl and jeer at the people trying desperately to claw their way out of the building. The people outside have pulled the pipe from the door handles, but there's so much fire billowing out that it looks like they can't get closer.
One of them hears the two on the bike and shouts, and tries to throw the pipe like a javelin. It's nowhere near as effective as he might have hoped, though, so it rolls off with a clang onto the pavement somewhere behind them. Johnnie pulls the front wheel off the pavement in a wheelie briefly just to show off before they're fully out of sight.]
